I know I haven't posted something from the great minds at CACTV in a while, especially their "Spitting in the Whip" episodes but they've been going strong for, like, EVER...I would've thought you would be going to their website on your own by now, created a profile for yourself and started voting weekly. Now THIS is the episode I've been waiting a long time for. In the past I posted video's about Soul Khan before so you should understand my excitement. His Battles, his songs and somethings in between. I was ALL about Soul Khan. So, for me to be waiting THIS LONG for his appearance on "SITW", I would've thought this session would have been a bit better than it just being a promotional opportunity. I know you have to use each and every chance you get to promote your project(s). I just figured he would have had a little fun with it. jsut a little....I'm not totally disappointed, I mean Soul Khan just delivers ANYWAY. I just didn't feel the energy. I don't know that's just me though...

"A Las Vegas judge just sentenced Floyd Mayweather to 90 days in jail for beating up his baby mama, Josie Harris, in front of their kids.

Floyd was arrested for the incident in September 2010 after his ex-girlfriend accused him of hitting her "multiple times in the head with his fist" and then threatening to kill her. Floyd allegedly was fired up after she told him she was dating someone new.

Floyd struck a plea deal in order to drop the felony battery charge by pleading guilty to misdemeanor domestic violence for beating his ex-girlfriend. He also plead no contest to two misdemeanor harassment charges, after he allegedly threatening to abuse his children during the incident.

In addition to his jail sentence Floyd was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service and a 12-month domestic violence program and was fined $2,500."

I don't know about anyone else. I can only speak for myself. I haven't had a chance to update the site in awhile. I wanted to take a different approach on blogging and actually SHARE some of my thoughts instead of just posting some of the re-posting some of the illest videos this year. Advocate Certified. #Youknowwhatitis. I just peeped this Shawty Lo video. I gotta first say, it's been awhile since I even bothered to pick up on anything he's been doing lately. That largely due to the fact that he faded into the background for a minute after he was claiming T.I wasn't from ATL....or something like that. I forget the details. That's the problem sometimes, as fans, we don't look at Hip Hop as a collector's game anymore. It's a Sport. A Bloody Gladiator's realm. Once someone loses a battle, they just don't lose. They're dead. Then we forget about them and move on to the next contestant.

I had heard Shawty Lo signed some sort of deal with G-Unit. Again, I don't know the details..I gotta get better with that. I don't want to really bore you with the details. I just wanna know, just like you. So I tend to think you would Google it, just like me. Anyway, I glossed over it like "oh...Shawty Lo...hmm". No disrespect but I wasn't interested. It's been a second and I Fiiiinally decide to watch THIS video.

I'm interested.

After watching this video, something happened. It clicked in my head and reminded me of that aura I felt when I was running around with my old rap partners and when we would go to the lab, pour our REAL feelings over beats and created a sound of our own that would express who we were as black men in these days and times. We were even told by someone IN the game that the energy we were creating was the same path THEY took. It's a genuine feeling. It's hard to explain but even though it's a different sound than I'm used to. Even for it's southern influence there's something different about it. I can't put my finger on it, but it's kind of cool to me. Hip Hop Rock Ballad. I don't know, like I said I can only speak for myself.

You may think I'm looking into this a little deeper than I should but when I read some of the comments after the video, I was sort of disappointed because everyone dogged THE SHEET out of son for his sound, his video direction AND his look. No one mentioned what was being said in the lyrics. We got away from that some how, but I want to focus on that for a bit. Maybe the reason he did a CHEAP video is 1) it was smart not to overspend when you have to pay most of it back anyhow. 2) He needed you to listen to the "True Story" they were giving us. We as fans tend to bob our heads to the beat and wait for the "bang bang..Kill em dead" part, then get rowdy...fine...to each his own, but I think we need to chill with all that RAR-RAHness and learn to view Hip Hop for it's artistry for a change. Learn to appreciate what someone is offering you man. It may just be a jewel, son.

I for one like the sound and how it flows...slow clap for Shawty Lo...Looks like he's making a "Come-Up" like Spartacus.

First off, Joell Ortiz has been on his grind since day one BY HIMSELF!! So he's right about not having to checking in with anyone...I don't think "doing things FOR the industry" is in his DNA, especially to give himself MORE of a name?...but the moment he pays HOMAGE to one of the legends HE respects, YOU bums have a problem with it, and then you want to turn around create a SUPERGROUP!! What? To show the pseudo authenticity you THINK you got in Rap? Fat Joe dissed the lot of you and you've been trying to come up for a minute, the only one who DIDN'T deserve that was Remy Ma but...looks like Cuban link and Tony are trying to make a come up to me. Why didn't any of you come up with the "Big Pun" back track when it was hot?...you heard everyone else jump on the "2Pac's Back" track and you saw the concept that was buzzin'. From the time I was this aspiring clumsy street skater...(Falling Down? That was my MOVE SON!!) I've always enjoyed new music that was merged wit rap in any sort of way (Kraftwerk, SkateMaster Tate). Every since I first heard Red Hot Chili Pepper's "Fight Like a Brave" I felt like anything was possible with Hip Hop. You didn't have to be confined to being a conscience rapper or a gangster rapper..you could do YOU!! Well that's how I felt...that's how I carried it from then on. Creating my own collection of different sounding rap. It was one of the main reason's I started rapping on my own. With that said... This video is banana's to me. I'm about to do some searching on Sweatshop Union. Seriously, this is on some reverse X-Clan shit....(look it up if you don't know what I mean) ....regardless of what you think these Dudes are dope son. They got flow to me and I like the video. It takes me back to where folks did these Cool ass stories in their video's. It teaches our future that it doesn't have to be the image that's portrayed in the media that you HAVE to aspire to be. You can be whoever you want to be and become successful doing it. I'm just sayin', "Keep it KWU" (I'm telling you that's the New Negro Feng Shui right there..) and it'll be Hip Hop, in other words it'll be "All Gooood". Rapping is just a part of it. Mix it up a little, be a funky scientist and come up with time travel bumping some "Black Ops".

So, that's what I've been saying and HOW I've been carrying it for years now. I stand behind this project 100% and I'm about to get in where I fit in....watch...Thanks Hakim Green and AL, for keeping it Tru Skool!!

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, but with the earthquake/Flooding in japan, New Zealand, as well as other places. Soldier Boy's brother AND Nate Dogg's Funeral being in the same weekend and 10 yr old's pushing Coke in class..I needed a moment of silence for a long while...not just, head down...2min prayer...Then go on about my business. I had to meditate on what's going on and if you haven't noticed it's going nuts right now in the world. Sometimes we ALL just need to sit down and take a look at our actions on a daily. You can't expect to wallow in your debauchery and still think you're coming out feeling refreshed. There comes a point and time when the price you promised, for all you've done, in the name of fun, will start calling for payment. With that being said...Hip Hop's really hasn't been moving me lately, you know, like something worth listening to and to reflect upon and feel inspired by....unless I wanna get mad...then hyped up....but I don't lift weights like that soooo....it seems that everyone wants to be "rrrrr" right now and I'm just not feeling it.

Ok, this trailer? MAKES me WANT to get behind this movie. At first there was some skepticism but I do believe we have a good Superhero Movie this time around. I was starting to dread the "Superhero Movie" after the Fantastic Four with Silver Surfer didn't live up to my expectations (No Galactus??).
Then when Kick Ass came out I REALLY wasn't looking forward to THOR. It just seemed a little Corny to go with THIS hero when you have Soo many other Hero's and Anti-Hero's (DeadPool Movie Please) that Hollywood could pull from. And Captain America didn't look any more promising. But this trailer is pretty killer though. I just hope they didn't show all the good parts in the trailer..like usual..that would suck.....

*I do have one question, though. If THOR is the God of Thunder then why in the hell is he knocked out by a taser? I mean to the point that he has to wake up in the hospital?....Just sayin'.
